Renowned industrialist and Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani on Friday donated ₹10 crore to the Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines during his annual visit to the two pilgrimage sites in Uttarakhand. He also assured that he would stand by Uttarakhand in times of disasters and natural calamities.
Ambani landed at Badrinath Dham on Friday morning and then proceeded to pay his obeisance at the Kedarnath shrine later in the forenoon. During his visit, the Reliance Group chairman donated ₹10 crore to the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) for the upkeep of the shrines and other developmental activities in the interest of the pilgrimage centres. He also applauded the facilities being provided to pilgrims at the Badrinath and Kedarnath temple areas.

Ambani expressed concern over the losses suffered in natural disasters in Uttarakhand and assured the people of the state that he would stand by them in times of crisis. He said that a series of cloudbursts this monsoon had taken a heavy toll on human lives and property. “Our sympathies are with you. I and the Reliance Foundation will stand with Uttarakhand whenever any need arises,” he said.
Ambani said that the Char Dham Yatra is being conducted in an organised manner. “The BKTC Management always ensures excellent arrangements for the convenience of pilgrims. Such well-planned and safe facilities are rarely seen at other religious places in the country,” he added.
Ambani further said, “I have been visiting Uttarakhand for almost 20 years, but never did I experience the kind of arrangements available now. The two shrines have witnessed an unprecedented extent of developmental work under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. This is also expected to lead to a significant rise in the number of Char Dham pilgrims in the next 10 years.” He assured the BKTC management that he would stand by the Uttarakhand government in every possible way to protect the Dhams and the environment.
