The Uttar Pradesh government approved a 90-km Greenfield Link Expressway proposal, a ‘Link Expressway’ from the Agra-Lucknow Expressway to the Ganga Expressway via Farrukhabad.

The decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting held here on Friday under the chairmanship of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. In total, 22 proposals were approved.

Disclosing the decisions taken at the cabinet meeting, Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna stated that the proposal regarding the Industrial Development Department/Semiconductor has been approved.

He stated that Thakur Yuvraj Singh University, Fatehpur, received approval for the issuance of a Letter of Intent, while Gandhi University, Jhansi, received approval for the Letter of Intent, and Radha Govind University, Chandausi, received approval for the Operational Rights proposal.

Khanna informed that the Cabinet has approved the Uttar Pradesh District Mineral Foundation Trust Third Amendment Rules 2025.

He informed that approval has been given to the formulation of the paddy procurement policy under the Price Support Scheme in the Kharif marketing year 2025-26. Paddy will be procured from October 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026, in Western Uttar Pradesh and from October 15 to February 28, 2026, in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. This year, the purchase price of common paddy has been fixed at ₹2369/quintal, for Grade A paddy, the price has been fixed at ₹2389/quintal, and a target of procuring 60 lakh metric tonnes has been set.

Khanna stated that the coarse grain procurement policy has been approved, with purchase prices set at ₹2400/quintal for maize, ₹2775/quintal for millet, ₹3699/quintal for sorghum (hybrid), and ₹3749/quintal for sorghum (maldandi). Furthermore, the proposal to provide free cylinders on Diwali under the Ujjwala Yojana (Ujjwala Yojana) has been approved.

He stated that based on the Supreme Court appeal regarding the dependents of deceased, “Premlata vs. State of Uttar Pradesh,” under the deceased dependents scheme, the dependents of the deceased will be able to obtain employment within the same cadre under which they were employed. For example, a dependent of a Group C employee will be able to obtain employment within the same cadre, and a dependent of a Group D employee will be able to obtain employment within the same cadre. The proposal has been approved.

The Cabinet Minister stated that, in addition, funding proposals have been approved for the Rampur, Ayodhya, Lucknow, and Baghpat Development Authorities under the Chief Minister’s Urban Expansion New City Promotion Project.

Khanna stated that the proposal to open a portal and make budgetary arrangements for scholarship fee reimbursement for students (Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, General, Other Backward Classes, and Minorities) who were left out of their scholarships in 2024 due to various reasons has been approved. A provision of ₹647.38 crore has been made for this purpose. The Sant Kabir Textiles and Apparel Park scheme has been approved for employment.
