“Day 1 68th film Daayra with the most amazing @meghnagulzar and @therealprithvi … Send love and blessings,” she wrote.
Earlier this year, Kareena had shared her enthusiasm about the project. She said, “As I celebrate 25 incredible years in Hindi cinema, I’m thrilled to announce my next film, ‘Daayra’, with the incredible Meghna Gulzar directing. I’ve long admired her work, from ‘Talvar’ to ‘Raazi’, and being directed by her is a dream come true.”
She also expressed excitement about working alongside Prithviraj. “Collaborating with him is a highlight for me. The film’s bold and thought-provoking story promises to challenge and inspire audiences. I can’t wait to bring this story to life with Meghna, Prithviraj, and the team at Junglee Pictures,” Kareena added.
‘Daayra’ marks Meghna Gulzar’s next directorial venture following the success of ‘Sam Bahadur’.
Kareena’s journey in Bollywood began in 2000 with JP Dutta’s romantic drama, which also marked Abhishek Bachchan’s debut. The film featured Jackie Shroff, Sunil Shetty, and Anupam Kher in key roles. Based on the short story ‘Love Across the Salt Desert’ by Keki N. Daruwalla, it told the story of an unnamed Indian Muslim helping refugees cross the border through the Great Rann of Kutch.
