Days after a 10-year-old school student collapsed and lost her life on the school premises in Noida, her mother shared a video over social media, pleading that the exact cause of her daughter’s death should be known.
“On September 4, I drove my child to school, and later that afternoon, I received a call from her teacher saying that she had fainted during school hours,” Tripta Sharma, an IT professional, said in her video that she posted on Facebook on Monday.

The woman further said, “The teacher told me that my daughter had been taken to Kailash Hospital, and when I reached there, the doctors informed me that she had been brought dead to the hospital.”
“I just want to know what happened with her. I know my daughter is not going to come back, but I deserve to know the truth. Let me grieve with answers, not silence,” Sharma alleged in the video that went viral.
The deceased, a sixth-grade girl, studied at Presidium School in Noida’s Sector-31. On September 4, as the school was preparing to host the Teacher’s Day program, she collapsed on the campus premises.
When the school authorities were questioned at the time of the incident, they said the girl choked on food that got stuck in her esophagus, her mother mentioned. Meanwhile, the concern in the matter is what could have been the reason for the delay in filing the FIR (today) in this regard when the complaint by the parents was filed on September 8.
In the autopsy that was conducted by a district medical panel, there were no external wounds, and the cause of death is yet to be determined. Viscera samples were preserved for forensic analysis, the Uttar Pradesh Police said.
When speaking to The Statesman on Tuesday, the minor’s family said that the deceased was raised by Tripta after the death of her father in 2019. Tripta said, “What is shocking is that no one saw her when she collapsed. Her friends said that they saw her lying unconscious on the second floor.”
The school has issued multiple statements but has consistently refused to provide any CCTV footage to me,” she said. The family alleged that the school delayed treatment by initially taking her to the campus medical room instead of a hospital.
One of the officials from Noida Police said, “While inspecting the school, we found that there was a lapse in 360-degree surveillance coverage. The spot where the girl collapsed, on the side of a corridor near the staircase, was not covered by any CCTV camera. But the police have taken the CCTV DVR system. No other lapse has been found till now,” said Rajesh Kumar Singh, District Inspector of Schools, who was looking into the matter.
