Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said on Monday that Lord Buddha is India’s most precious heritage for all humanity. His philosophy, based on compassion, kindness, and peace, still gives society a powerful message of co-existence and human sensitivity.

Buddhist monks expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for organizing an exhibition of the sacred Piprahwa (Kapilvastu) relics of Lord Buddha in (Kalmykia), Russia, and for giving Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya the opportunity to lead the Indian delegation.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya said, “India’s illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been continuously striving to enhance the respect of Indian culture and civilization in the world community since 2014, when he assumed the reins of the country.”

He said the prime minister had stated at the United Nations that India gave the world Buddha, not war. For the nation, state, and society to prosper, one must seek refuge in Lord Buddha, and this was discussed in many countries. Exhibitions of the sacred relics of Lord Buddha have been held in Thailand and Vietnam.

Maurya stated that these events have strengthened both political and spiritual ties with other countries. He expressed his gratitude to the honorable prime minister for organizing the display of Lord Buddha’s relics in Kalmykia, Russia, and for the Prime Minister’s opportunity to lead the delegation.

Dwelling on the significance of the display of the sacred relics, he said it would strengthen bilateral relations, deepen cultural and political ties, restore civilizational heritage, and establish India as the birthplace and custodian of Buddhism. Furthermore, it aims to strengthen the atmosphere of global peace and harmony and spread Lord Buddha’s message of compassion, peace, and non-violence throughout the world.

Appealing to the people to sell and buy indigenous goods, he said indigenous products would make the country prosperous, strengthen the country’s economy, make the country self-reliant, and thereby fulfill the resolve of a developed India and a developed Uttar Pradesh.

Deputy Chief Minister Maurya extended his heartfelt greetings and felicitations to the people of the country and the state on the auspicious occasion of Sharadiya Navratri, the great festival of worship of Shakti, and said that this sacred occasion of faith and belief should infuse new energy and enthusiasm in everyone’s life.

Buddhist monks blessed Mr. Maurya for a successful visit to Russia and the successful organization of the programs and extended their best wishes for a successful visit. A large number of them from across the state organized a ceremony at the deputy chief minister’s camp office at 7-Kalidas Marg and expressed their gratitude and thanks to the prime minister for this sacred work.

It is noteworthy that the delegation going to Russia will be led by Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya. They will leave for Russia on September 23.
