Armed robbers loot Amazon truck on NH-44 in Madhya Pradesh

Armed robbers looted an Amazon truck laden with goods on National Highway-44 in Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh late Saturday night. The vehicle was transporting the company’s consignment from Gurugram to Nagpur.

According to police, the incident occurred near Silarpur village at Charguwan Tiraha under Gaurjhamar police station limits, along the Sagar–Narsinghpur road.

Additional Superintendent of Police Lokesh Sinha said four armed men barged into the truck when it slowed down due to ongoing underbridge construction work. The assailants thrashed the driver and cleaner, then held them hostage.

The robbers later drove the truck to Mungwani, where they unloaded the consignment, transferred it to another vehicle, and fled the spot.

Police have registered a case against the unidentified accused on the basis of a complaint lodged by the driver, Dilchan Patel. ASP Sinha said a manhunt has been launched and assured that the culprits would be arrested soon.

The police official added that the value of the looted consignment is yet to be ascertained and will be confirmed by the company’s officials.
