The Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) has successfully concluded a seven-day Rashtriya Karmayogi Jan Seva Training Programme, held from September 9 to 17, under the Government of India’s Mission Karmayogi. The initiative sought to equip employees with values of citizen-centric governance, service excellence, and professional ethics.
Addressing the valedictory session, Vice Chancellor Prof. Kshiti Bhusan Das said the idea of a “Karmayogi” flows from the Karma Yoga of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita.

“Only by combining Bhakti Yoga, Jnana Yoga, and Karma Yoga can we become true Karmayogis, leading to a developed India,” he noted. He stressed that productivity and outcome must be supported by emotional and social quotient for holistic progress.
Registrar K. Kosala Rao highlighted the need for government work to be both rule-based and role-based to ensure development moves in the right direction.
As part of a national exercise that has prepared 15,000 master trainers to train seven lakh government employees, four CUJ officials underwent training in Guwahati before leading the programme in Ranchi. A total of 224 employees—126 professors and 98 non-teaching staff—participated.
Sessions were led by master trainers Dr. B. B. Mishra, Dr. Pragyan Pushpanjali, Deputy Registrar Abdul Halim, and Dr. Bhagwati Devi. Through a mix of lectures, case studies, group activities, and gamified modules, they created an interactive learning environment.
Participants praised the initiative, with Prof. Manoj Kumar, Dr. Rashmi Verma, and Hindi officers Madhuragi Srivastava and Jai Prakash Shukla calling it enriching. The Vice Chancellor honoured the trainers with shawls. The programme was conducted by Dr. Pranay Parashar, with a floral welcome by Dr. Shashi Singh and a vote of thanks by Deputy Registrar Abdul Halim.
By combining ancient wisdom with modern training, CUJ has positioned itself as an early adopter of Mission Karmayogi, setting a benchmark for capacity-building in higher education.
