A 31-year-old woman, who was involved in drug peddling, was arrested by Delhi Police along with 20.26 grams of smack in her possession, officials said on Tuesday.
According to police, the accused is a habitual offender who was previously involved in three criminal cases — two related to narcotics and one under the Excise Act.

The woman was arrested on Monday, when a patrolling team received a tip-off about drug peddling activity in D-Block, Nand Nagri. On reaching there, the team noticed a woman handing over a polythene packet to a group of boys in a lane, a police officer said, adding that, “While the boys fled on spotting the police, the woman attempted to conceal the bag in her clothes and escape, but was intercepted.”
The matter was reported to the Nand Nagri police station, and the woman was searched in compliance with Section 50 of the NDPS Act. “She was arrested along with a white polythene bag containing a brownish substance, later confirmed to be smack weighing 20.26 grams,” the officer said.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to her involvement in drug peddling, police said.
Based on the questioning and information gathered in this matter, a case under Section 21 of the NDPS Act was registered at the police station.
