SP MLA’s wife gets interim bail in maid suicide case

The Allahabad High Court has granted interim relief to Seema Beg, wife of Samajwadi Party MLA Zahid Beg, in a case related to suicide of a minor domestic help in their house in the Bhadohi district.

The minor maid was found dead in the MLA’s house on September 9, 2024.

A single bench of Justice Sameer Jain gave this order here on Tuesday.

Staying the proceedings of the case going on in the trial court till further orders, the high court sought a reply from the state government in two weeks.

Meanwhile, the petitioner was asked to file a rejoinder within a week after the reply of the state government.

The next hearing in the case will be after three weeks.

Seema Beg had filed a petition in Allahabad High Court to quash the proceedings in the case going on in the trial court.
