The personnel are following all the necessary protocols along the border and conducting required checks with regard to the movement of people.

After apprehending the prisoners, the frontier force handed them over to the local police for further investigations and legal steps to be taken in the matter.

Reportedly, a large number of prisoners from several jails in the neighboring country had escaped amid the violent anti-government protests, taking advantage of the unrest, while clashes were also reported between the inmates and the prison security personnel.

The SSB, one of the country’s Central Armed Police Forces, holds the task of guarding India’s open border with Nepal and also Bhutan.

In view of the adverse situation in Nepal following the protests, the frontier force is on high alert, and is keeping a hawk eye on those entering India from across the border, while taking all necessary steps to ensure safety and avoid any untoward incident.
