An alleged ISIS operative was arrested during a late-night raid at a lodge in Ranchi, while another suspect was detained in Palamu, Jharkhand, as part of a joint operation conducted by the Delhi Police Special Cell, Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), and Ranchi Police on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Ashhar Danish, a resident of Jharkhand, was staying for several days at Tabarak Lodge in Islamnagar under Lower Bazar police station.

Acting on intelligence inputs, Delhi Police’s Special Cell, in coordination with the Jharkhand Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), carried out the raid around 2 am. Danish was found in possession of a weapon, electronic devices, chemicals, maps, and documents described as “objectionable.”
Officials said Danish had rented the room after furnishing a form with an Aadhaar number, mobile details, and a local address in Petarwar, Bokaro. His father’s name is recorded as Mazrul Hasan.
The joint team of Delhi Police Special Cell, Jharkhand ATS, and Ranchi Police deployed nearly 200 personnel to secure the lodge before arresting the suspect. He is being taken to Delhi on remand for further interrogation.
Jharkhand ATS SP Rishabh Jha confirmed the recovery of chemicals and electronic equipment from the lodge, adding that the seized materials are under examination.
Meanwhile, in Japla, Palamu district, another suspected operative was taken into custody and is being interrogated at Hussainabad police station.The coordinated action is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle suspected terror networks operating within the country. Sources said he has disclosed information that may prove significant for the ongoing probe.
