Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday announced that the government will help and provide relief to the affected farmers in the national capital who faced crop damage recently after water entered their fields.

The CM lauded state government officials for standing their ground and carrying on relief works when water entered the Yamuna floodplains and also the areas where the water entered from the Haryana side after the embankment of the Mungeshpur drain got damaged.

She said that the government has appreciated the relief efforts by the administration officials during the tough time, adding that there is more to be done in this regard.

Gupta, while speaking to reporters, said that the government is working with utmost responsibility to get things back on track for those who were affected.

Taking to the social media platform X, the CM informed that a review meeting was held at the secretariat with the DM, SDM, sub-registrar, and senior officials of the revenue department with regard to the various development and public welfare works.

The CM said that after successfully organising the Kanwar Yatra and managing the emergencies when water entered the Yamuna’s floodplains during increased levels amid heavy rains, the next target of the administration is to smoothly conduct the organisation of the upcoming festivities like the Ramleela and Durga Puja celebrations.

According to the CM, the officials have been given clear instructions to keep an eye on every aspect of the upcoming festivities and arrangements.

CM Gupta said that the departments have been informed that there must be no mismanagement regarding the upcoming events.
