NDRF Company Commander Kaushal Kumar said the operation was extremely challenging due to repeated sliding in the mining area, but the BCCL mines rescue team displayed remarkable courage.

Family members of one of the victims, Aman, staged a protest after his body was recovered on Friday. Relatives and villagers carried the body to the Ambe outsourcing office gate, raised slogans against the company management and demanded compensation for the bereaved families. Protesters alleged that no company official was present and accused the management of fleeing the office.

Aman’s brother, Prithvi Singh, said the deceased was working as a mechanic supervisor in the mine and had left behind two young daughters. He demanded justice and proper financial support for the family.

Giridih MP’s representative Subhash Ravani blamed BCCL for negligence and unsafe mining practices, and sought immediate and adequate compensation for the dependents of all six deceased workers.
