Amid TMC split, Humayun Kabir offers to vacate Rejinagar seat for Mamata’s return to Assembly
Kabir said that he is ready to resign and ensure Mamata Banerjee is elected from Rejinagar.
A female employee of a corporate office in the New Town area was run over by a state government bus on Thursday.
The incident occurred near the Biswa Bangla Crossing when the victim Banashree Pal riding on a two-wheeler was going to her office.

According to police, an airport-bound speeding government bus dashed the two-wheeler from behind and ran her over. She fell on the ground in a pool of blood and was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her dead.

Police have started an investigation and the driver has not yet been arrested so far.
On Wednesday, one Subir Chakraborty also died in a road accident in the New Town area. Chakraborty, a resident of CC Block, died when the motorbike of an engineering student of a private college hit him.
The student, who hails from Howrah was later arrested.
