In his post on X, CM Adityanath said, “India’s tax system is entering a new era under the visionary leadership of respected Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The resolution of the #NextGenGST Reform that the Prime Minister had placed before the countrymen on the occasion of Independence Day is seen coming to fruition today. This is not just a tax reform but a decisive and important step towards making India a leading economy in global competition with a high growth rate.”

He said,” Now there will be only 2 major slabs in #GST, 5 per cent and 18 per cent, in which most of the essential commodities have been kept in the 5 per cent slab. The interests of the states have been taken care of in these reforms, which will be implemented from September 22. This new chapter will provide a new strength to farmers, women, youth, the MSME sector, and small traders. Keeping the tax on food, medicines, and educational material from 0 per cent to 5 per cent will save domestic expenditure. The reduction in everyday items will encourage consumption, and every family will also get immediate relief from it”.
