IIM-Lucknow, BBAU, KGMU & LU improve their positions in NIRF 2025 rankings

Lucknow University, Indian Institute of Management (IIM-Lucknow), King George Medical University (KGMU), and Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University, all based in Lucknow, have secured places in the top 100 institutions in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025.

The Ministry of Education, Government of India, released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025 for educational institutions across the country on the eve of Teachers’ Day on Thursday.

According to the NIRF 2025, the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow secured 5th position in the ‘Management’ category in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025. With this, the institute gained two places compared to its 7th position in the NIRF 2024.

At the same time, King George Medical University (KGMU) has made an extraordinary leap in the NIRF 2025 rankings, rising to 8th position from 19th in the category of medical institutions across the country. Apart from this, KGMU secured 29th position among the top 50 state public universities and 50th position in the overall university category, which reflects its position as a leading medical institution in the country.

KGMU Vice Chancellor and Padma Shri Awardee Prof Sonia Nityanand congratulated the entire university community and expressed her deep gratitude for this achievement.

Similarly, Lucknow University has once again registered a strong presence in the released rankings, securing the 98th position among the top 100 universities in the country for the second consecutive year. Last year, it was in 97th position. The university’s greatest achievement was in the category of state-level public universities, where it made a remarkable improvement, moving from 32nd position to 27th position this year. This achievement earned the university a top position among the non-technical state universities in Uttar Pradesh.

Similarly, the university strengthened its position in the law category by securing 29th rank. At the same time, for the first time in the Management category, the university has made a new beginning by securing the 100th position.

LU Acting Vice Chancellor Prof Manuka Khanna expressed satisfaction over the results, saying, “We are happy that this year we have improved our marks in the University, State Funded, and Law category. We will continue to strive for higher rankings in the future.”

Similarly, Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Central University has established a new identity by performing brilliantly. The university secured 37th position in the University category and 69th in the overall ranking. This achievement reflects the academic excellence, research work, and dedicated teaching environment. Vice Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar Mittal congratulated everyone, saying that this achievement is the result of the collective efforts of teachers, researchers, administrative staff, and students.

He especially appreciated every member who contributed to this success and said that this achievement has not only strengthened BBAU’s reputation at the national level but also made it a living source of inspiration for students and researchers.
