A joint team of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested a Ugandan woman allegedly carrying cocaine and crystal meth drugs worth nearly Rs 4 crore in a train at the Bhopal railway station.

According to officials, the woman, identified as Nabayunga Jariya, was travelling in the A/C coach of the Amritsar-CSTM Express (11051) from New Delhi to Mumbai. The agencies had received input about her being a drug mule, ferrying the contraband drugs.

Officials from the DRI and RPF intercepted her when the train halted at the Bhopal railway station on Friday. On searching her luggage, the officials found 147 grams of cocaine and 370 grams of crystal meth hidden inside a suitcase.

The woman was subsequently arrested. During interrogation, she told the officials that she was working as a drug courier and was supposed to deliver the contraband in Mumbai.

Officials are interrogating her further to learn more details about others involved in the international drug racket.
