Rahul Gandhi moves Allahabad HC to quash MP-MLA verdict

Congress MP from Rae Bareli and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi knocked the door of Allahabad High Court on Saturday .

A single bench of Justice Sameer Jain is likely to hear the case on Monday.

On July 21, 2025, Varanasi MP/MLA Court has accepted the monitoring petition against Rahul Gandhi.

The petition has been filed in the High Court against the acceptance of the monitoring petition.

The case is related to Rahul Gandhi’s foreign visit in September 2024, when he made a statement about the Sikh community during a program. The case was filed teterminhis statement as inflammatory.

Nageshwar Mishra of Varanasi had filed a case in the court of Judicial Magistrate (II), which was dismissed by the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (MP/MLA) after hearing on November 28 2024

After this, Nageshwar Mishra again filed a monitoring petition in the Varanasi Sessions Court, which was accepted by Special Judge MP MLA Court on July 21 , 2025.
