The inaugural meeting of the 11th Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) of East Coast Railway, convened on Friday, emphasised passenger amenities and services, the introduction of new trains (special and regular), increasing train frequency, responding to public demands, and other developmental initiatives.
The meeting was chaired by Parmeshwar Funkwal, General Manager, with the principal heads of various ECoR departments in attendance. A total of 23 ZRUCC members, including Members of Parliament Aparajita Sarangi (Bhubaneswar), Sujeet Kumar (Odisha), Mahesh Kashyap (Bastar), Appalanaidu Kalisetti (Vizianagaram), and Bonela Vijaya Chandra, MLA (Parvatipuram), participated in the meeting.

The session also included representatives from the Chamber of Commerce, trade and industry associations, consumer protection organizations, differently-abled associations, recognized passenger associations, special interest groups, nominees of union ministers, and other stakeholders. Members actively provided valuable opinions and suggestions.
The General Manager, Funkwal, pledged to give maximum priority to the suggestions received and to take appropriate action within available provisions to resolve highlighted issues. He commended the proactive and constructive involvement of ZRUCC members, reaffirming the commitment to address concerns to the fullest extent possible.
