The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Friday introduced a new online portal enabling citizens to track the real-time movement and routes of Mechanical Road Sweeping Machines (MRSMs) across the city. The initiative is targeted at boosting transparency, accountability, and public participation, noted the civic agency.

Appreciating the launch of the live-tracking system, MCD Commissioner Ashwani Kumar said that the launch of this portal marks a step forward in leveraging technology for better civic management. He added that “through this initiative, MCD is ensuring that our citizens are informed and empowered.”

Kumar noted that the real-time tracking feature not only promotes accountability but also builds trust between the civic body and the people it serves.

The agency outlined the current operational hours of MRSMs that function daily from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM, except on Sundays and Gazetted holidays. “With the help of this platform, the public will also be able to view where and when the sweeping machines are working, ensuring accountability,” MCD noted.

The MCD operates 52 Mechanical Road Sweeping Machines, which collectively clean approximately 1600 kilometers of lane length of roads, having a width of more than 60 feet every day. These machines help in controlling dust pollution.

The MCD reaffirmed its commitment to improving civic services, enhancing cleanliness, and creating a healthier environment for all residents of Delhi.
