In Bollywood, some partnerships feel like they are written in the stars. Director Sooraj Barjatya and superstar Salman Khan have given audiences unforgettable films like ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ and ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’. Fans were excited when reports surfaced that the two were preparing for another big project, possibly an action drama. But now, Barjatya has revealed that the plan is on hold.

Speaking in a recent interview, Sooraj Barjatya admitted that while he and Salman Khan had discussed a new film, he wasn’t satisfied with the story yet.

“Sometimes you take up a subject but can’t take it forward. If I don’t understand the heart of a character, I can’t begin. That’s how I work,” Barjatya explained. “I have made only seven films till now because I only move ahead when I feel completely convinced. Right now, I want to create something fresh and meaningful for Salman, especially at this stage of his career, but it is a big challenge.”

The director also spoke about Salman’s current phase in Bollywood. The actor has faced a few disappointments at the box office, with his recent releases not living up to expectations. But Barjatya is not worried.

“Ups and downs happen in everyone’s life,” he said. “It’s just that because he is a star, people notice more. But everyone has the right to make mistakes and learn from them. Salman is a strong person and such a good human being. I’m sure he will make a huge comeback.”

While their reunion might take longer than expected, both stars are busy with separate projects. Barjatya has already moved forward with a new family drama, where Ayushmann Khurrana is set to play a character named Prem. Sharvari will appear opposite him.

On the other hand, Salman has dived into shooting ‘Battle of Galwan’, a war drama that is already creating buzz.
