The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned Rs 5 crore for six key projects to transform ancient temples in Ambedkar Nagar and Amethi into major centers of faith and tourism. Under the Chief Minister’s Tourism Development Scheme, the projects will restore historic temples while adding modern facilities, giving pilgrims a better experience and generating employment for locals.

Tourism & Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said the initiative reflects the state’s resolve to preserve its spiritual legacy while building a strong tourism economy. “These ancient temples are not just centers of faith but also a living heritage. By reviving them with modern facilities, we are creating hubs of cultural pride and economic growth. This effort will benefit local communities and make the Ayodhya region even more attractive for visitors,” he said here on Thursday.
