Two people sustained injuries after the roof of a four-story residential building collapsed in Siddhatri Enclave that lies in Delhi’s Mohan Garden, on Tuesday, police said.

According to police, the injured persons were taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for medical treatment; however, the doctors said that their injuries were not severe.

The incident happened in the Mohan Garden police station jurisdiction area in the Dwarka district, Ankit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka), said, adding that the victims have been identified as Subhash, 35, and his sister-in-law, Preeti, 45. A child, who was also trapped under the debris, escaped unhurt.

“Two people sustained minor injuries when the roof of one room (old structure) on the 4th floor at Siddhatri Enclave, Mohan Garden, collapsed due to incessant rain under the Mohan Garden PS area in the Dwarka district,” the DCP mentioned in his statement.

DCP Singh further said, “Both the injured were shifted to DDU Hospital and discharged after treatment. No life-threatening injuries have been reported. Subhash, 30, sustained a fracture on his left forearm.

Earlier on August 15, six people lost their lives after the roof of a room at Dargah Sharif Patte Shah collapsed near Humayun’s Tomb.
