40 years of love: Anupam Kher remembers special gesture for Kirron during illness

Love and devotion can shine brightest in the toughest times. Veteran actor Anupam Kher proved this on Tuesday as he celebrated 40 years of marriage with his wife, Kirron Kher.

On the special day, he took a heartfelt trip down memory lane, sharing a touching story from the time Kirron battled multiple myeloma in 2020.

Anupam posted a throwback video on Instagram that instantly brought smiles to fans. The clip featured Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe, the stars of the hit show ‘Outlander’, sending Kirron warm wishes for her recovery.

In the video, the actors said, “Hi Kirron, We just wanted to say hi and wish you the very best with all your treatment and hope that you’re doing well, feeling good… sending lots of love from ‘Outlander’.”

Alongside the video, Anupam shared a long, moving message for his wife Kirron. “Dearest Kirron! HAPPY 40TH ANNIVERSARY! Wow! Feels like a lifetime! In our case, it IS a lifetime! Ten years of beautiful friendship and 40 years of marriage! We have had our share of tough times. But we have survived these years with a lot of grace, dignity, and love,” he wrote.

Anupam reflected on their journey together, revealing how gifts and flowers marked many of their early years. But when Kirron fell seriously ill, he wanted to give her something truly special.

Knowing that her favorite show was ‘Outlander’, and that she adored the lead characters Claire and Jamie Fraser, he reached out to their actors through his London agent, Ruth Young. The goal was to get a personalised video message to lift her spirits.

“The video brought a big smile to her face during those tough days,” Anupam recalled. “Can’t thank @samheughan and @caitrionabalfe enough for this wonderful human gesture! Since I have run out of our pics together, here is that video. Hope it brings a smile on your face even today. Love and prayers always!”

Fans and followers flooded the post with love and congratulatory messages for the couple.
