The city of Nawabs has been decked up for a grand welcome to the city boy, Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla, the first Indian astronaut to return from the International Space Station, here tomorrow morning.
Chief minister Yogi Adityanath, along with his two deputies, ministers and BJP leaders, will felicitate Shubhanshu Shukla and his parents in the Lok Bhawan at 4 pm.

The Lucknow Municipal Corporation will hold a historic celebration on the day while a victory parade has been planned from Chaudhary Charan Singh Airport to Gomti Nagar Extension.
For the occasion, welcome gates have been erected at prominent places in the city. Also, councilors, municipal corporation officers and employees will be present under the leadership of Mayor Sushma Kharkwal to welcome him. A cemented road has been built in front of his residence in Triveni Nagar while his entire house has been decorated with flowers. The road leading to his residence in Triveni Nagar is being freshly laid, a symbolic gesture to honour the national hero’s arrival. The road outside his house would be named after Shubhanshu.
His parents, Shambhu Dayal Shukla and Asha Shukla, informed the media that the entire family would be going to the airport to receive him. They had already met him in Delhi when Shubhanshu reached the USA last week.
They shared information about the preparations made to welcome the son. His sister said she would welcome her brother by tying a Rakhi to him.
During his three-day stay in Lucknow, Shubhanshu will stay in the government-run VVIP Naimish Guest House under special security. Hecwill occasionally visit his residence in Triveni Nagar.
Meanwhile, City Montessori School (CMS) has announced a grand victory parade to be held at Janeshwar Mishra Park from 9:30 am tomorrow in the honour of ‘ National Hero’ Gaganyatri Shubhanshu.
According to the authorities, Shubhanshu, who is an alumni of the CMS, will reach CMS Gomti Nagar Extension branch after the victory parade where his family would be honoured. Later at 12 am, Shubhanshu will hold a press conference there.
The district police have imposed several traffic restriction in the state capital, particularly from Airport to Gomti Nagar extension, and there will be diversion on six routes from 7 am tomorrow.
