Bad weather forces Rahul to cancel Almora rally, return to Delhi
Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's Almora rally was cancelled on Thursday owing to bad weather conditions in the Kumaon region.
Rahul accused the Election Commission of India of colluding with the BJP to steal votes, calling “vote chori” an attack on the Constitution of India.

Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday reiterated his “vote chori” allegations, saying he was convinced that results of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections were manipulated.
Addressing a gathering during the INDIA bloc’s ‘Vote Adhikar Yatra’ in poll-bound Bihar’s Munger, Rahul said, “For the past few years, elections have been taking place where the public mood and the election results are completely different. Everyone has been assuming that something is wrong with the elections.”

The Congress leader continued, “In Maharashtra, for the first time, it was proven that the EC and BJP have been stealing elections. Our alliance won in the Lok Sabha elections, and four months later, the BJP won. The only difference was that nearly one crore new people cast their votes… and all these votes went to the BJP alliance. BJP won in all those places where these new voters cast their votes.”

Rahul accused the Election Commission of India of colluding with the BJP to steal votes, calling “vote chori” an attack on the Constitution of India.
The Congress MP further vowed the Opposition will no longer allow the BJP and the Election Commission to steal even a single vote in Bihar.
“PM Modi, BJP and the Election Commission are stealing votes in every state. This time, we have the proof and we will not allow them to steal even a single vote in Bihar and that’s why we are carrying out this yatra…,” Rahul added.
Meanwhile, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, who accompanied Rahul Gandhi during the yatra, launched a direct attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA-led government in Bihar over the law and order situation in the state.
“Crime, murders, corruption in Bihar on the rise…. PM Modi must tell what he has done in the last 11 years,” Tejashwi remarked.
Yadav said that the Bihar government has no vision of roadmap for the state’s development.
“Whatever Tejashwi Yadav says, this government does. We talked about increasing pensions, and the (state) government quietly increased pensions. We promised to create 5 lakh jobs, and they claim to offer additional employment opportunities. We said we would make electricity free, and this government says they will also make electricity free… We discussed forming a Youth Commission, and the government also mentioned a Youth Commission.
“Now you decide whether you want a real Chief Minister or another duplicate Chief Minister? This is a copycat government…,” the RJD leader added.
