Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has held the “Congress’ appeasement centric policies” responsible for the genocide and other hardships suffered by lakhs of Indians in the wake of 1947 partition of India.
Speaking at a seminar on the occasion of the “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day – 14 August – at the Naal near here Thursday, Sharma said, “Lust for the power in the contemporary Congress leadership has led to the partition of India.”

This had taken a toll on numerous human lives, unsettling the lives of lakhs of others while inflicting enormous atrocities on yet others.
“On the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, we pay tribute to all those unsung patriots who lost their lives in these disruptions. We also reaffirm the resolve to respect their sacrifices and also to work for keeping intact the unity and integrity of the nation.” the CM pledged.
Sharma further said, “It is a matter of satisfaction that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the NDA has been making efforts to show some respect and provide some solace to victim – destabilised or unsettled families”.
In this connection, the NDA led government at the Centre legislated on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and granted Indian Citizenship to those Hindus, Jain’s, Baudhists, and Sikhs, who were leading lives of refugees in inhuman situation in neighbouring countries – Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. They were subjected to religion-based discrimination and brutalities, for being Hindus, he said.
It is regrettable that none of the leaders in the contemporary Congress leadership bothered to do good for these hapless victims, he contended.
