Ahead of embarking on the proposed ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi urged the youth of the state to join him in the fight against alleged vote theft and irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls to ensure ‘one person, one vote’ and to protect democracy.
In a video message on ‘X’, he said: “We need the youth of Bihar in this battle. All young people should join us to safeguard the Constitution.”

The Congress leader is scheduled to embark on the state-wide yatra on 17 August from Sasaram. For about a fortnight, he will travel across the state, including Gaya, Munger, Katihar, Purnia, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Champaran and Arrah, addressing rallies during the day and spending nights in the field connecting with local people.
Rahul Gandhi will be joined by top leaders of the INDIA bloc including RJD’s Tejashwi Yadav. The joint campaign is also aimed at energising the alliance leaders and workers on the ground, setting the stage for the polls due in October-November.
The Yatra will conclude with a mega rally of the Opposition parties at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan on 1 September.
Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram has directed Congress leaders and workers to make the upcoming yatra a big massive success. He said the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar has mostly affected the SC, ST, EBC and OBC communities.
He emphasised that it is everyone’s responsibility to safeguard the idea of social justice and ensure that the voting rights of the eligible voters are not taken away. Everyone must be ready to fight in every possible way to protect these rights. “We must ensure that not a single vote is stolen in Bihar and that a government ‘of the people, for the people’ is formed. To achieve this, we must fight back, oppose voter fraud happening under the guise of special voter inspection, and protect democracy.”
Bihar Congress in-charge Krishna Allavaru said Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra is aimed at protecting justice, equality, democracy, and strengthening public dialogue. He called on party workers to devote themselves with full energy, dedication, and discipline to make the Yatra historic.
He further said that Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra is not just a political programme, but an effort to connect with the soul of the nation. He highlighted that Bihar has always been a guiding force for people’s movements and will play a leading role this time as well.
