Northern Railway organises exhibition on ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’

An exhibition was organised on ‘Partition Horrors Remembrance Day’ on Thursday by the Delhi Division of the Northern Railway.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that 14th of August would be observed as “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day” in his Independence Day speech on August 15, 2021 from the Red Fort.

The Nation will celebrate the 79th Independence Day on August 15, 2025, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the celebrations from the iconic Red Fort in Delhi. he will unfurl the National Flag and address the nation from the ramparts of the iconic monument.

On the eve of the 79th Independence Day, the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day is being observed throughout the country.

The Partition Horrors Remembrance Day has been envisaged to bring to light the agony, suffering, and pain of millions of people. It is to remind the country of the largest displacement of human population in the last century, which also claimed the lives of a large number of people.

“To showcase the sufferings of the partition-affected people, an exhibition has been curated by the Ministry Of Culture,” Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer, Northern Railway, said.

The exhibition was on display at 18 railway stations of Delhi Division that are New Delhi, Old Delhi, Anand Vihar Terminal, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Ghaziabad, Meerut City, Muzaffarnagar, Baghpat, Faridabad, Palwal, Sonipat, Panipat, Karnal, Kurukshetra, Jhajjar, Jind, Delhi Cantt. and Tohana.

Patriotic songs were played during the exhibition.

Pushpesh Raman Tripathi, Divisional Railway Manager, Delhi and Senior officers of Delhi Division visited the exhibition at New Delhi Railway station.
