Officials said the recovery was part of intensified combing operations aimed at curbing the movement of armed groups in the hill districts.
On the same day, Manipur Police arrested an active woman cadre of the proscribed People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (Progressive) — PREPAK (PRO). The accused, identified as 22-year-old Elangbam Bijeshwori Devi of Heirangoithong Maibam Leikai Bokul Makhong in Imphal West district, was apprehended from Hiyanglam Awang Leikai in Kakching district. A mobile phone was seized from her possession.
The PREPAK (PRO), a Meitei insurgent outfit operating primarily in the valley districts, has been involved in extortion, targeted attacks, and recruitment drives.
In parallel with counter-insurgency measures, the state police have also intensified traffic law enforcement to maintain civic order.
