The Speaker also reviewed the administrative preparedness of the Assembly Secretariat at a meeting with Principal Secretary (Assembly) Bharat Bhushan Sharma here on Tuesday.
Devnani said, “An all-party meeting will also be held before the Assembly session.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel said, “The session may last for over 10 days. “Before convening the session, I held consultations with Speaker Devnani, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, and leaders of political parties on issues pertaining to the smooth functioning of the House.
He said around a dozen bills would be introduced or passed during the session. Some of the bills referred to the Select Committee in the Budget Session might be brought to the House for discussion and passage.
The Budget Session of the Assembly was held between January 31 and March 24. Twelve Bills were introduced or passed during the 24-sitting session, and three bills were referred to the Select Committee.
Besides, the State Budget 2025-26 was presented by Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari on February 19 and received the House’s final approval on March 12.
Despite discharging adequate legislative business, the session was intermittently marred by ruckus, pandemonium, and dharnas in the well of the House. It also witnessed the suspension of six Congress members for the remaining period of the session. The suspension, however, was later revoked through the suo motu intervention of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
