US President Donald Trump on Monday claimed that tariffs had given the U.S. “great power,” helping resolve conflicts such as those between Pakistan and India, and Azerbaijan and Armenia.
While speaking at an event, he said,”…The tariffs have helped, gives us not only the money, but it gives us great power over enemies. We solved five wars- Pakistan and India. Azerbaijan and Armenia- it was raging for 37 years, and the two leaders got up and they said, we never thought this would be solved. Russia tried to solve it. They all tried to solve it. It was a very tough situation, but we got it done.”

Trump had previously claimed that the US brokered peace between India and Pakistan.
Trump’s claim that he mediated between India and Pakistan had been rejected repeatedly by India. The US President previously claimed that the ceasefire was achieved only after the he interceded and offered both countries trading access to the US.
Azerbaijan and Armenia on Friday signed a landmark peace agreement brokered by the United States during a meeting at the White House with President Donald Trump. The deal aims to strengthen economic ties between the long-time rivals and move their relationship toward full normalization after decades of conflict.
Cambodia’s prime minister Hun Manet announced on Thursday that he has nominated US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, praising his “extraordinary statesmanship” in resolving a border conflict between Cambodia and Thailand.
