The East Coast Railway on Monday announced that it will provide free bus services between Cuttack and Naraj Marthapur railway stations for passengers of three diverted trains.

In view of the ongoing modernization work at Platform Number 2 of Cuttack Railway Station, the East Coast Railway has announced temporary changes in train operations and added passenger convenience measures.

From August 11 to September 21, three trains will be diverted to run via Barang–Naraj Marthapur–Machhapur–Salagaon–Kapilas Road, bypassing Cuttack Station:. These trains, according to ECoR, are 12515 Coimbatore–Silchar Superfast Express, 22643 Ernakulam–Patna Bi-weekly Express, 12509 Bengaluru–Guwahati Tri-weekly Express.

These trains will provide a temporary stoppage at Naraj Marthapur Railway Station during the above period.

To ensure smooth connectivity for passengers, free bus services will be available in both directions between Cuttack and Naraj Marthapur Railway Stations for passengers of the diverted trains. Passengers who have booked tickets to Cuttack on the diverted trains will be deboarded at Naraj Marthapur Station.

From there, free bus services will be provided to take them to Cuttack Railway Station. Similarly, passengers who have booked tickets from Cuttack on the above diverted trains are requested to arrive at Cuttack Railway Station well before the scheduled departure time. They will be transported to Naraj Marthapur Station by free bus services to board their respective trains, ECoR added.

This temporary arrangement has been made to facilitate major infrastructure upgrades at Cuttack Station, including the construction of a new Air Concourse, Granite Laying Works, and Grid & Pile Works on Platform Number 2.

Passengers are advised to arrive at Cuttack Station well ahead of the scheduled departure times of the above-mentioned trains to avail the bus service and avoid any inconvenience, concluded ECoR.
