Tamil Nadu CM Stalin unveils State Education Policy, opposes NEP with two-language formula

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Friday released the State Education Policy (SEP) at Anna Centenary Library Auditorium in Chennai, a move seen as opposing the National Education Policy (NEP) by with two language formula.

State Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said, “Today’s function serves as a proof of our SEP’s (State Education Policy) output. They (centre) want to implement the three-language policy under NEP, but we don’t want to do that…”

The Tamil Nadu government has long opposed the Centre’s National Education Policy (NEP), particularly its emphasis on a three-language formula, viewing it as an attempt to impose Hindi.
