The Rajasthan government has terminated the services of nine police inspectors for indolence, inefficient and dissatisfactory discharge of duty.

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Wednesday reviewed and disposed of 37 cases pending for approval for prosecution on proceedings pending under section 17A of the Prevention of the Corruption Act.

Sharma has also taken action based reports of inquiry and investigation at different levels against 55 officers”, an official release stated.

Among these matters, Sharma has given approval for action against an IAS officer under Rule 8 of the All India Services (Appeal and Discipline) Rules 1969. This case pertained to a serious case of allotment of land in violation of rules.

Besides this, the CM has also approved prosecution cases against 6 state service officers and granted permission of thorough probe and investigation against two RAS and RAcS officers under section 17A of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act 2018.

The pension of 13 retired officers was stopped following departmental inquiry under CCA Rule 16. In pending cases of some retired personnel, he has ordered stopping pensions of 5 other officers.

Among these cases, the 100 percent pension of one officer who was found guilty in a corruption case, has been stopped.

Chief Minister Sharma has accepted the inquiry reports on proven accusations against 14 officers in 9 cases.

He has also dismissed the review petition from an officer submitted under CCA Rule 34 and endorsed the punishment given earlier to the petitioner.
