Both leaders emphasized the importance of AI in parliamentary functioning, with Harivansh noting that AI is a “transformative tool to assist Members to carry out their responsibilities with greater effectiveness and improve legislative support and facilitate better governance.”
The two presiding officers discussed regular parliamentary exchanges between India and the UK, aiming to enhance cooperation and knowledge sharing.

They expressed confidence in increased trade between the two nations following the successful visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the UK, which led to the signing of the landmark India-UK Comprehensive Economic & Trade Agreement (CETA).

The Indian Parliament plans to roll out more innovative practices in the coming months and years to make the institution more accessible to citizens. Ghani appreciated the insightful presentations made by the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariat on the use of AI in Parliament and the progress achieved in adopting technology.
