In a major push to foster patriotic spirit and mass participation, over 15 lakh national flags will be distributed across Jammu and Kashmir as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga 2025 campaign, set to be observed from August 2 to 15, under the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Citizens will also be encouraged to join the nationwide ‘Selfie with Tiranga’ digital campaign, by uploading photos with the national flag to a dedicated portal developed for real-time event tracking and engagement.

The preparations were reviewed in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, on Friday in Srinagar where he emphasized the importance of making this campaign a people’s movement, with participation from every household, institution, and community. Officials from the Culture Department, GAD, Police, and other departments were present.
A key highlight of this year’s campaign in the UT is the massive distribution of over 15 lakh Tirangas, aimed at ensuring that every home, shop front, and institution across the Union Territory flies the National Flag with pride. The flags will be distributed through a wide network including Self-Help Groups (SHGs), panchayats, and urban local bodies, allowing even the most remote households to be part of the celebrations.
“This is not just a symbolic act—it’s a message of unity, identity, and shared national pride,” said an official. The mass availability of flags will also ensure visibility of the campaign across public buildings, educational institutions, market areas, and places of historical or cultural importance.
To further engage citizens, the administration is putting special emphasis on the ‘Selfie with Tiranga’ campaign, a widely popular digital initiative. Residents are being urged to click and upload selfies with the National Flag to the official portal, creating a virtual wall of patriotic participation.
“This campaign has evolved into a vibrant expression of love for the nation. We expect lakhs of selfies from across J&K, especially from schoolchildren, youth groups, and community events,” said the official.
The uploaded selfies will also be featured on government dashboards and social media to amplify public involvement.
A dedicated online portal will facilitate real-time monitoring, reporting, and public participation. From flag distributions to school activities and cultural festivals, the platform will serve as the digital heartbeat of the campaign, making it easier to track impact and document public engagement.
The campaign will culminate on Independence Day, with large-scale celebrations planned in Jammu and Srinagar, reflecting the theme of ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bhara
