A woman sub-inspector of Delhi Police has been arrested along with two of her subordinates and two civilians for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹20 lakh from a complainant, a senior police officer said on Monday.

A woman sub-inspector of Delhi Police has been arrested along with two of her subordinates and two civilians for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹20 lakh from a complainant, a senior police officer said on Monday.
The accused, identified as Neetu Bisht, was posted at Paschim Vihar East police station. She was caught red-handed on the station premises following a trap laid by the police after the complainant filed a report.

According to a senior officer, Bisht was arrested along with two other police personnel, a head constable and a constable.

The matter came to light when the complainant, who runs an educational consulting firm, approached the Paschim Vihar East police station.
In his statement, the victim alleged that while he was at his office on Saturday, a police officer from the station accused him of running his business illegally. He was then forcibly taken in an SUV to a police booth in Peera Garhi.
The complainant further alleged that the police personnel initially demanded ₹50 lakh and that the sub-inspector threatened him with dire consequences if he chose to report the matter.
The two civilians arrested — one of them identified as Ajay Kashyap — were reportedly known to the complainant. According to officials, they coerced him into signing two cheques to settle the matter with the police.
Eventually, the complainant agreed to pay ₹20 lakh as the first installment, following which the trap was laid.
Investigators are now probing the role of the Station House Officer (SHO) of the Paschim Vihar East police station, as Ajay Kashyap was frequently seen at the premises.
