Operation Sindoor Parliament Debate LIVE Updates: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday opened the high-stakes debate on Operation Sindoor in Lok Sabha after repeated adjournments due to Opposition ruckus delayed the start. As Lok Sabha resumed proceedings at 2 pm after multiple adjournments, Singh initiated the debate by paying tributes to the fallen and hailed India’s response to the Pahalgam attack.

He told the house that over 100 terrorists, their handlers, and sponsors were targeted by the armed forces as they hit nine terrorist sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. “Soon after the Pahalgam attack, our Armed Forces took action and hit with precision the nine terrorist infra sites in which more than 100 terrorists, their trainers and handlers were targeted, ” he said.

Singh, however, clarified that the aim of the Operation Sindoor was not to start a war, but to eliminate the terror nurseries that Pakistan had been nurturing for years. “Crossing the border or capturing territory was not the objective of Operation Sindoor. The aim of launching Operation Sindoor was to eliminate those terror nurseries that Pakistan had nurtured for many years,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju accused the Opposition of running away from the Operation Sindoor debate in Lok Sabha after the House faced repeated adjournments due to the Opposition’s sloganeering. The Lok Sabha was scheduled to discuss Operation Sindoor, the Pahalgam attack, and US President Donald Trump’s ceasefire claim after both parties agreed to a marathon 16-hour debate on the issue in each House.

The proceedings in both the Houses of Parliament began at 11 am. However, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha were both adjourned till noon amid ruckus. Shortly after the proceedings resumed, Lok Sabha was adjourned again due to disruptions till 1 pm and Rajya Sabha till 2 pm.
