Police on Sunday arrested the science teacher of a government-run high school under the Talachua marine police station jurisdiction in Odisha’s Kendrapara district for allegedly molesting at least five girl students in the institution premises.
The unsavory incident came to light when one of the victims refused to go to the school on Friday. Later, she revealed her parents regarding the amorous advances of the school teacher towards the girl students. However, the parents did not come forward to lodge a police complaint, said a police official.

The accused teacher allegedly molested and touched the students inappropriately recently in the school.

The headmaster of the school lodged an FIR against the teacher, Amar Prasad Mallick, on Saturday narrating the sexual escapades of his colleague. Mallick, booked under relevant sections of BNS and section-12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, 2012, has been arrested and sent to jail after a court in Kendrapara rejected his bail application, said the Inspector-In-Charge of Talachua marine police station, Bimal Kumar Mallick.
