According to a statement, Germany’s Federal Employment Agency (BA), responsible for employment benefits and job market operations across the country, launched a flagship scheme known as APAL, a project that covers training partnerships with schools in Latin America, India, and Uzbekistan.

Speaking on the occasion, Gupta appreciated the efforts of these children to reach the global stage despite modest means. “These are the children who, despite limited resources, gave wings to their dreams. Through their hard work and excellence, they have now earned a place on the international stage,” she added.

The education minister further highlighted that the programme will focus on both skill development and employability. After completing 3 to 3.5 years of education and training, the students are expected to secure placements and gain valuable insights into global markets.

In October 2024, the former government of the national capital stated that the APAL initiative was organised by the former Delhi government led by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in collaboration with the Goethe Institute and leading German industries. The statement added that the first batch, comprising 30 to 40 students, will join the APAL project in 2025.
