Both houses of Parliament, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, couldn’t conduct any constructive business on Wednesday and were adjourned for the day amid ruckus over special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Bihar. The chair in both houses called it a day after having two mid-proceeding adjournments as protests by Opposition members over the SIR in Bihar and the resignation of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar continued unabated.
As members from the INDIA bloc protested in both houses, demanding discussions on the SIR in Bihar and Operation Sindoor, the two houses were adjourned multiple times – first till 12 noon, then till 2 PM, and finally for the day.

Despite disruptions, the government introduced the National Sports Governance Bill and the National Anti-Doping Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha.
The Lok Sabha, however, could not take up the ‘The Readjustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constituencies of the State of Goa Bill’ as repeated appeals, from the Chair to hold discussions on the legislation, which was slated to be taken up today for passing, fell on deaf ears.
“I request you to kindly sit back. Let there be a discussion. We have lost precious time in two days. Kindly allow the bill to be discussed… You cannot bring placards like this. In spite of my repeated requests, you don’t want discussions on the bill. It is very unfortunate that you don’t want a discussion on STs of Goa,” appealed Krishna Prasad Tenneti, while officiating as the Speaker.
Issues at the center of the protests included the Special Intensive Revision in Bihar, on which the Opposition alleges electoral manipulation in the exercise.
The other issue at the centre of the protest also included the sudden resignation of Jagdeep Dhankhar as Vice President, citing health reasons. The Opposition, however, infers the resignation with having “far deeper reasons.”
