Over 500 ailing, elderly people blessed by Dalai Lama at Zanskar in Ladakh

It was a dream come true for over 500 ailing and elderly Ladakhi people when they got the long-awaited opportunity to be blessed by the Dalai Lama in the cold desert region of Zanskar in Ladakh.

The Dalai Lama, who is camping at Zanskar for a couple of days, blessed these people at the Karsha Monastery Phodrang, Padum, Zanskar on Monday.

The Tibetan spiritual leader is currently on a month-long visit to Ladakh. His official engagement schedule while in Zanskar was released today. The 14th Dalai Lama will attend a Long Life Prayer offered to him by the Zanskar Buddhist Association, the Zanskar Gonpa Association, and the Karsha Gon Yarchos Chenmo Organising Committee in the morning at the Kalachakra Teaching Ground Padum in Zanskar on 23 July.

He will give a short teaching on Tsongkhapa’s Three Principal Paths (lamtso namsum) in the morning at Karsha Phodrang (KarGön Palace) in Zanskar on 25 July.
