Wishes poured in from across the political spectrum for Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who celebrated his 83rd birthday on Monday, highlighting his commitment to justice, democracy, and the Constitution.

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar called Kharge “Karnataka’s pride,” praising his deep commitment to the people and ideals of the Congress Party.
Born on July 21, 1942, in Varawatti village, Karnataka, Kharge is the first non-Gandhi Congress president in over two decades. He also serves as Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha since 2021.
