Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, accused the government of silencing the opposition’s voice in Parliament today.

Speaking to reporters outside Parliament during an adjournment, Gandhi stated that the opposition isn’t being allowed to speak in the House, while members of the government, like the Defence Minister, are freely allowed to express their views.

Gandhi emphasized that as Leader of Opposition, it’s his right to speak in the House, but he’s never allowed to do so. Drawing a contrast with members from the ruling side, Gandhi noted that government members speak freely, but opposition leaders aren’t allowed to say anything.

When asked to comment on PM Modi asserting that the Monsoon Session was a very proud session for the nation, Gandhi remarked, “but he just ran away from the House within a second.”

The Monsoon Session of Lok Sabha witnessed repeated disruptions today, with the House adjourned four times amid opposition demands for discussion on Operation Sindoor and the Pahalgam terror attack. Despite the disruptions, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assured the House of a detailed debate on national security matters.
