Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla Monday appealed for cooperation among all political parties for the smooth functioning of the House during the Monsoon Session of Parliament, which begins today.
Birla emphasised the importance of reducing disruptions in House proceedings to ensure issues faced by people are raised effectively.

Urging all parties to minimise disruptions and ensure the House functions properly, Birla said in post on handle X: “It is time for change. If we have to strengthen democracy and hold democratic institutions accountable, we have to ensure that the Houses function in a proper manner.”

The Monsoon Session runs from July 21 to August 21, with a break for Independence Day celebrations between August 13 and August 17.
