Police on Sunday arrested three cybercriminals for their alleged involvement in duping people through online investment frauds from Rajasthan, Haryana, and Delhi.

The accused — identified as Deepak Verma (20), a resident of Tonk in Rajasthan, Surendra Kumar Dudi, a law student hailing from Sikar, and Rajveer from Sirsa in Haryana — were arrested in Delhi.

“Two of the accused hail from Rajasthan and one from Haryana. The arrests were made in Tonk, Sikar, and Delhi. These areas have increasingly become active bases for cyber fraud networks,” a senior officer said.

The Cyber Police Station of Delhi’s Dwarka district launched a special operation following a surge in cybercrime complaints from residents.

“Our officers deployed teams to the suspected regions after digital trail analysis in three separate cases revealed connections to remote locations in Rajasthan,” the officer added.

However, the preliminary investigation in this case directed the line of inquiry towards new and emerging cybercrime hotspots in Rajasthan.

“To take targeted and effective action against the fraudsters, our teams conducted a detailed operation in Tonk, Sikar, Jaipur, and Sirsa, based on intelligence from digital footprints and field surveillance.”

Deepak, arrested on July 2, was allegedly involved in investment fraud and provided fake bank accounts and SIM cards used in cybercrime.

Furthermore, Surendra Kumar Dudi, arrested on July 2, was allegedly receiving funds generated through a digital arrest scam — a method in which victims are coerced into transferring money through fake law enforcement threats.

Rajveer, arrested in Delhi on June 30, allegedly received a portion of the defrauded money in an investment fraud case.

All three have been booked under relevant provisions, and further investigations are underway to identify other members of the cybercrime network.

The Delhi Police added that several similar cases remain under investigation, and the search for other suspects is ongoing.
