As per media reports, the injury happened while Shah Rukh was filming an intense action sequence for ‘King’, his next big project. The actor, known for performing many of his own stunts, was said to be fully involved in the scene when he reportedly strained some muscles.

Earlier this year, Shah Rukh spoke about ‘King’ during an event in Dubai, where he hinted at the film being a high-energy action thriller. He shared that the film is being directed by Siddharth Anand, the filmmaker behind the blockbuster ‘Pathaan’.

“I am just shooting it. I will be shooting it for a couple of months. My director, Siddharth Anand, is very strict. He made ‘Pathaan’ also. He has asked me not to reveal what we are doing. I can’t tell you but I can assure you that it will be entertaining. You will enjoy it,” SRK had said during his interaction with fans.

Last year, while speaking at the 77th Locarno Film Festival, Shah Rukh had shared that ‘King’ is a project very close to his heart. The actor revealed that he has been thinking about doing a film like this for nearly seven years. He also mentioned his collaboration with filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh for the project.

“There are certain kinds of films that I want to do, maybe it’s more age-centric. I mentioned it to Sujoy one day while we were sitting together. He works with us at the office, and he said, ‘Sir, I have a subject,’” SRK recalled.

He also talked about physically preparing for the role, saying, “For ‘King’, I have to lose some weight, do some stretching and get into better shape.”
