The Parliamentary Select Committee on Income Tax (PSC-IT) has officially adopted its report on the Income Tax Bill, 2025, marking the culmination of nearly five months of rigorous deliberations, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista announced on Wednesday.

The Parliamentary Select Committee on Income Tax (PSC-IT) has officially adopted its report on the Income Tax Bill, 2025, marking the culmination of nearly five months of rigorous deliberations, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista announced on Wednesday.

Highlighting the scale and seriousness of the process, Mr Bista said: “The adoption of the report follows 36 intensive meetings held over five months. The committee ensured an inclusive and democratic consultation process where voices from all stakeholders—including common citizens, government officials, non-profits, ICAI, ICSI, ICMAI representatives, and legal experts—were heard and considered.”

As a member of the committee, Mr Bista expressed his appreciation for the leadership of Chairman Baijayant Panda. “His leadership was instrumental in navigating the complexities of this landmark legislation. I also thank all my fellow members for their insightful contributions and the ability to rise above ideological differences in service of the nation and its citizens,” he said.

Mr Bista added that the Income Tax Bill, 2025, is poised to become a key milestone in improving the Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living for citizens across the country, aligning with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
