President Droupadi Murmu to be on 2-day visit to Odisha starting Monday; Will Engage with Academic and Cultural Institutions

President Droupadi Murmu will embark on a two-day official visit to Odisha, starting Monday, a release from the President’s Secretariat said.

During her visit, she will participate in several significant events, highlighting her commitment to education, healthcare, and cultural preservation.

On Monday, President Murmu will attend the fifth convocation ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar, as the chief guest. This prestigious event will see the country’s top medical students receiving degrees in the presence of the highest constitutional authority.

The following day, on Tuesday, President Murmu will grace the 13th annual convocation of Ravenshaw University in Cuttack. She will also lay the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Ravenshaw Girls’ High School, demonstrating her commitment to women’s education and empowerment.

President Murmu will also attend the 600th birth anniversary celebrations of Adikabi Sarala Das, a revered literary figure from Odisha. During the event, she will present the Kalinga Ratna Award-2024 to deserving individuals who have made exceptional contributions to literature, culture, and public service, according to the release issued on Sunday.
